Well here I am again, and its been a few months since I’ve been ‘on-line’ doing an ‘update’ to the old ‘blog’, so much has happened that I don’t really know where to start, but I suppose the beginning is as good a place as anywhere?
Well as per usual we have been extremely busy gigging all over the UK to thousands of adoring ‘Take That’ fans, the winter we are having is causing major problems getting to venues, but I suppose no more than everyone else in the UK who has to travel, but hey ho, we always seem to get there, one way or the other…. (‘Fake That’ will travel, and always does)
We have a new member in the ‘Fake That’ line up, and his name is ‘Keith’ (that’s not his fault, I’d blame the parents really!) … In fact he’s not that new, as he used to be with us a few years ago when we were ‘Westlives’… (Which we still are from time to time) … Versatile as eggs us lot you know!
Anyway ‘Robbie is back now’…. Although for us he’s never been away, as from the day we started our ‘Fake That’ tribute…. We have tried to get rid of him, but he keeps finding out where our gigs are, and then jumps on stage! …. It was funny the other day to see a new ‘Take That’ tribute show that said in their web site advertising ‘We are the first tribute band in the UK to be a 5 piece including Robbie’…. I think they need to do some serious homework, as we have been here for the past two and a half years as a 5 piece, but hey ho, I suppose they have to start someplace…bless!
Scott at Dansatak, our sole agent (bow your head three times when mentioning his name) is doing a great job in keeping us busy, even though he doesn’t usually start work until 11am most days, but the girls in the ‘Dansatak’ office keep things going in his absence, in fact ‘Sarah’ and ‘Gemma’ make sure we know where we’re going, and what time we are to arrive, they are a bit like the English versions of ‘Thelma’ and ‘Louise’, but with midlands accents!
‘English’…. That’s a good word, although it doesn’t cover the nationality of ‘Scotts’ wife ‘Nina’…. Now this is guy talk, so fems skip this bit…. Is it just me, or does that Scandinavian accent do it for you too? … Okay, maybe it’s just me, but woo hoo, she say’s ‘Carl we have a possibility of a gig in war torn Iraq, and I say, great, when do we leave?’…. It’s a man thing, it has to be doesn’t it?
Well my bed is calling now, and seeing it’s December, and the gigs are coming one after the other, I think sleep is a good thing…. So catch you all soon…
Carl
